Is Thai massage suitable for me? What does it treat?

Thai massage is great for endorsing deep relaxation. This can be used to help a wide range of conditions both physical and psychological. It is particularly beneficial for treating those that suffer from high stress levels/depression and anxiety, improving circulation, increasing mobility, posture and alignment.

Is it a standard treatment or will it be tailored to me?

Each treatment is tailored to the individual. There are over 120 positions for Thai body massage alone and it would be impossible to use all of them in one treatment. Therefore it is important to supply as much information to the practitioner as possible in your patient medical form. This will allow her to devise the best possible massage for you. Your practitioner will contact you prior to the treatment to discuss your condition / reasons for visiting in more depth.

Will I feel the Benefits straight away?

You will feel a deep sense of relaxation after the treatment and some clients even fall asleep! In today’s busy world Thai massage is the perfect way to find some time out from our day to day activities. It also serves as a preventative treatment to many conditions such as anxiety, stiff joints and circulation.

How long will the treatment take?

On average the Thai Body Massage treatment lasts approximately one and a half hours and Thai foot massage one hour

How often should I have a treatment?

Your practitioner will advise you on how often you should have a treatment dependent on the reasons that you are visiting her. As with any treatment you may feel some benefits after your initial visit but in order to increase these levels it is essential to have regular treatments.

Is a course of treatments required?

Your practitioner will advise you on this. Initially you can fill out the patient medical form and she will suggest whether Thai massage is suitable for you and what course of treatment would be most beneficial.

What do I need to do in preparation for my treatment?

Thai massage is performed over clothes so it is best to wear loose and comfortable clothing. It is also advisable to avoid eating a large meal up to 2 hours before the treatment.

Why is Thai massage the best option for me?

Everyone can benefit from a massage as it leaves the patient with a renewed sense of well being. It is particularly good for stress related illnesses and for posture, alignment, and circulatory problems. It is also very good for athletes and those that practice yoga or other forms of sport as it increases flexibility greatly.

Is it best used with other forms of complimentary medicine, eg. Ayurvedic medicine?

All complimentary medicines/practices work will each other therefore using herbal medicines or other forms of healing such as reiki or reflexology with only enhance you state of well being.

Is there any particular after care that I should follow?

We recommend that you drink plenty of water and try and relax straight after the treatment.

Are there any contraindications?
